The Potter's Daughter
April is a second generation potter on the Bruce Peninsula. Daughter of Don Dubois, a full time potter for forty years, the last twenty-five of which living and operating outside of Wiarton, Ontario.
April started playing on the wheel when she was twelve. Seven years later, she found herself at Sheridan College, in their Craft and Design program. In 1996 she moved back to Wiarton to apprentice with her father for a year. She has been ‘the Potter’s Daughter’ for thirteen years now.
April describes her work as high fired functional ware decorated with coloured slips and ash glazes.
April and her husband Michael Patry live in beautiful Colpoy’s Bay with their children Claire and Luc.
